The Third Computer Olympiad was held from August 22 to 28, 1991, Maastricht, The Netherlands. The chess tournament was dominated by the two Chessmachines with ARM2 processors, where Ed Schröder's Gideon gained the upper hand over The King version by Johan de Koning, and consequently won the Gold medal. The third Computer Olympiad was again associated by the Heuristic Programming in Artificial Intelligence conference, proceedings edited by Jaap van den Herik and Victor Allis, published in 1992 [2].
