Marvin was originally developed in the early 2000s until 2005, released in May 2004 [1] and January 2005 [2] as closed source engine.
After ten years "out of business", Martin Danielsson restarted the development in 2015 - the completely rewritten Marvin 2.0.0 was released as open source engine under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL3) in March 2017 [3].
