Jan Derksen, (1942 - August 2018 [1])
was a Dutch computer scientist, chess player and chess programmer. While affiliated with Delft Institute of Technology in the early 80s, he co-authored the chess program Pion. Along with Harry Nefkens and Jaap van den Herik, he represented Pion at the ACM 1982 in Dallas, and was involved in porting the program to ran on a VAX 11/780 of Purdue University.
