Vadim V. Anshelevich,
a Russian American physicist, mathematician and computer scientist. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics on Kubo-Martin-Schwinger states from Moscow State University under Yakov G. Sinai [2], and researched and published on the structure of DNA and on Neural Networks.
Vadim Anshelevich has been fascinated by the game of Hex since Martin Gardner introduced it to general public [3]
[4], and is author of the first successful Hex program Hexy [5] , which won the 5th Computer Olympiad, London 2000.

Hexy
In his 2002 paper A hierarchical approach to computer Hex, Anshelevich acknowledged Claude Shannon, who build an analogue Hex-playing machine using electrical resistor circuits [6] , which was model in Anshelevich program [7] :
A Hex-playing machine was built by Shannon and Moore. Shannon associated a two-dimensional electrical charge distribution with any given Hex position. This machine made decisions based on properties of the corresponding potential field. We acknowledge that our work is greatly inspired by the beauty of Shannon’s original idea.
