Nexus,
a private chess engine by Ralf Dörr and Norbert Esser with an own GUI [2], written in Pascal and compiled with Delphi [3]. Nexus has lot of knowledge implemented, notably in the endgame concerning the rule of the square, passed pawn races and corresponding squares, and performs bitboard techniques similar to The Switch Approach [4]. Nexus played the WCCC 2003 in Graz, the ICT 2004 and the DOCCC 2004, where it became runner up behind Diep, the IPCCC 2005, and the Chess960CWC 2005.
