EdChess, (Ed Chess, Ed's Chess, Chess!)
a shareware chess program for the IBM PC, released in 1992 by EdTech Associates Inc. running under DOS. The program has been developed by David Hendricks supported by John T. Bell [1] over a period of three years, written entirely with Aztec C 4.1d [2]. EdChess features a semigraphics board, drawing squares and pieces using IBM's special character set, and applies alpha-beta within an iterative deepening loop.
