Smaug
Smaug,
a chess engine by Joona Kiiski which was a slightly modified version of Glaurung 2.2 by Tord Romstad, announced in March 2009 [2].
Smaugh's patches were soon incorporated into another Glaurung derivative by Marco Costalba dubbed Stockfish [3].
Along with some emotional forum discussions on derivatives [4], Joona Kiiski became co-author of Stockfish, and Smaug 2.2.1. the one and only public release [5].
