Commercial Champion

As available chess computer, the Sensory 9 competed with the East German Chess-Master at the WMCCC 1983 in Budapest for the prize of the best commercial entry, and despite becoming 12th, won it one point ahead [3]. As reported by Frederic Friedel from the WMCCC, the newest version played on a 2 MHz processor with an improved program in 16 KiB of ROM, and contained some very interesting new algorithms. After a protest concerning the commercial title, Sidney Samole swore that the increase in speed and the new program were part of the current production run [4]. The magnetic Sensory board had 64 square LEDs to indicate the moves .
