an early chess program written by Bruce W. Leverett which participated at the ACM 1972 , where it finished in a tie for last place, loosing from USC CP and Schach, and a draw versus MSU CP. The Shannon Type B program apparently had some issues with choosing the subset of moves and suffered from tactical blunders.
Leverett, who is concentrating in Physics and Chemistry at Harvard, entered the tournament for the first time. His program finished in a tie for last place, and was labeled "the joke of the tournament" by International Master David Levy, the tournament director. Leverett attributed his defeat to "poor programming" and vowed to scrap his program and start all over again.
