Turning Point Olympic Marathon 1912 [1]

Turning Point,
a chess program by Eric van Riet Paap which participated at the Aegon 1996 Man-Machine tournament. According to Ed Schröder, Turning Point searches more than 200,000 nodes a second in the middlegame on a x86 Pentium Pro 200 MHz, including move ordering, transposition table, and null move pruning [2].

Quotes

  • Bobby Fischer [3]: The turning point in my career came with the realization that Black should play to win instead of just steering for equality.
