Pedro Castro Elgarresta, [1]
a Spanish electrical engineer who graduated from University of the Basque Country in 1993 [2]. As computer chess programmer, Pedro Castro is author of the Chess Engine Communication Protocol compatible open source chess engine DanaSah [3], and the WinBoard compliant chess engine Caligula [4]. He further hosts the Hispanic Chess Engines site to promote the chess engines of Hispanic American authors, using the Winboard and UCI protocols [5], also giving explanations of chess programming aspects, such as move generation, evaluation and search [6].
