Derek Oldbury

Derek Edward Oldbury, (March 21, 1924 - July 9, 1994 [1])
was a British draughts (Checkers) champion, competing in seven World Championship matches, and rival of Marion Tinsley. He was also a Checkers programmer, competing the 1st Computer Olympiad, 1989 with his Checker Hustler program, and the 2nd Computer Olympiad, 1990 with Checkermate, written along with Adrian Millett.
Oldbury was born paraplegic [2].
