Bill Jordan [1]

William (Bill) Jordan,
an Australian chess player, FIDE Master, in 1974 Australian Junior Champion, in 1997 Australian Postal champion [2], chess coach and writer, as well as software developer with focus on chess and Checkers programs and utilities.

Computer Chess

As computer chess programmer Bill, Jordan is author of various chess tools and the WinBoard compliant chess engines Bills Bare Bones Chess [3] aka Basic-Chess, and Awesome [4]. His program Chess Memory was inspired by Adriaan de Groot's cognitive experiments. One has to memorize positions from a series displayed for 10 seconds each to receive a percent score [5] . More recently, Bill Jordan published the didactic open source chess programs Bitboard-Chess and JavaScript-Chess on GitHub [6], along with his books and e-Books explaining the programs.
