Embracer,
a WinBoard compliant chess engine by Benny Antonsson, written in C++.
The project started in 1999, very much inspired from the instructive code of TSCP but with many changes and optimizations and a rather impressive speed of 300.000 NPS on a 800 MHz CPU [2]. Embracer was first released in December 2001 [3].
