Wildcat killing a Deer fawn [1]
WildCat,
a WinBoard, and since version 8, UCI compliant chess engine by Igor Korshunov, written in C++, first released in November 2000.
Contents
Description
WildCat's search relies on PVS and null move pruning with verification search, late move reductions, and futility pruning and razoring at frontier nodes. Move ordering is considered by killer- and history heuristic - the history table indexed by piece-type and target square, IID and SEE. WildCat keeps two best moves in the transposition table, and considers checks at the first ply of the quiescence search [2].
Tournament Play
So far, WildCat played the CCT5 and CCT6 CCT Tournaments, and was winner of the CCCCISC 2008, the first Computer Chess Championship of CIS Countries.
