The '''Third World Microcomputer Chess Championship''' took place from October 13 to 19, [[Timeline#1983|1983]] at the SZÁMOK Computer Education and Information Centre, [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budapest Budapest], [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hungary Hungary], as a special activity of the 3rd Symposium on Microprocessor and Microcomputer Applications. Tournament Organizer and Director was [[László Lindner|Dr. László Lindner]], the [[ICCA]] was represented by Past President [[Ben Mittman|Benjamin Mittman]]. Up to three computers per team were allowed, with the restriction those entries couldn't play each other in the seven round [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss-system_tournament Swiss-system tournament]. [[Elite|Elite Auto Sensory]] by [[Dan Spracklen|Dan]] and [[Kathe Spracklen]], supported by [[Ron Nelson]] and [[Boris Baczynskyj]] became champion with 6/7, while their entry [[Sensory 9]] won the prize of the best commercial available computer, competing with the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Germany East German] [[Chess-Master]].
