Frantz
Frantz,
a mainframe chess program written by Fritz Königshofer and Gerhard Wolf, affiliated with Graz University of Technology and its computer center Rechenzentrum Graz. Frantz played the 1st World Computer Chess Championship, 1974 in Stockholm [1], running on an UNIVAC 494, a 30-bit word machine and successor to the UNIVAC 490/492 with faster CPU and 128 KiWords core memory. It lost from Kaissa and Tech 2, and won versus Papa and A16chs [2].
