BlackBishop,
a free Chess Engine Communication Protocol and UCI compliant chess engine by Andreas Herrmann, written in Delphi and first released in April 2004. BlackBishop evolved from his former engine Holmes, and applies NegaScout with null move and futility pruning along with lazy evaluation, maintains attack tables for king safety and other evaluation features, and generates moves with the help of piece lists. BlackBishop was most active in 2004, playing the IPCCC 2004 and CCT6.
