Andrew James Palay,
an American mathematician [1] and computer scientist. At Carnegie Mellon University, Palay researched on B* and introduced PB* in his recognized 1983 Ph.D. thesis Searching with Probabilities [2], advised by Hans Berliner. He was involved in the development HiTech with early design issues and implemented the opening book [3].
