The playoff between the winner of the Manufacturers Group, [[Chess Genius|Mephisto Genius 2]] the so called [[Mephisto Wundermaschine]] (Mephisto Wonder Machine), running Genius on an internal [[x86|80486]] [[IBM PC|PC]], and the winner of the Software Group, [[HiarcsHIARCS]], for the title of the World Micro Absolute Champion was won by Mephisto Genius with 1½ - ½.
