Laveen N. Kanal, (born September 29, 1931)
an American electrical engineer, high technology entrepreneur, educator, and professor emeritus of computer science at University of Maryland, College Park [2]. His research interests include various AI topics, search algorithms, pattern recognition, and the application of computational intelligence technologies to image understanding and intelligent tutoring systems [3].
