Kirill Kryukov [1]

Kirill Kryukov,
a Russian computer scientist and bioinformaticist at the Department of Molecular Life Science, Tokai University School of Medicine, Isehara, Kanagawa, Japan, previously affiliated with the Division of Population Genetics, National Institute of Genetics (NIG), Mishima, Shizuoka. His research covers human genetics, DNA sequence alignment and in particular multiple sequence alignment (MSA). He has written various tools and scripts for DNA data and FASTA format [2].

Computer Chess

Likely due to the common dynamic programming roots of MSA and retrograde analysis, Kirill Kryukov's professional and recreational activities intersect. His computer chess related interests include endgame tablebases, Minichess, and further engine testing and match statistics. In 2004, Kirill solved 3x3 Chess [3], and in 2010, 3x4 Chess [4]. He further maintains the KCEC engine rating list (Kirr's Chess Engine Comparison) [5], and is administrator of the Russian KasparovChess computer chess forum.
