Michael G. Malkovsky, (Михаил Георгиевич Мальковский, March 15, 1947)
a Russian mathematician, computer scientist, and pioneer in Artificial Intelligence. Since 1970 he is affiliated with the Moscow State University, 1973 as assistant, 1980 as professor, and 1993 as head of the Department of Algorithmic Languages, Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics [2], in 2004, as honorary professor.
He holds a Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in 1975 under supervisor Svyatoslav S. Lavrov, and a Ph.D. in 1990, both in natural language processing. Michael G. Malkovsky was one of the founding members of the Soviet Association for Artificial Intelligence (1988) [3] [4],
and is member of the editorial board of the International Journal Web Journal of Formal, Computational & Cognitive Linguistics [5].
Lomonosov Tablebases
Along with Victor Zakharov and Vladislav Y. Shchukin, Michael G. Malkovsky published on compression of the 7-piece Lomonosov Tablebases, whose algorithms are based on data reordering before compression, the RE-PAIR compression algorithm , and use of the so-called under-determined value method [6] [7] .
