Alexander Johan (Alex) de Voogt,
a Dutch psychologist, researcher and associate professor at Drew University,
who worked as curator in African Ethnology at American Museum of Natural History.
Until 2009 he was affiliated with Leiden and Maastricht University. Alex de Voogt researched and published on diverse topics as seventh century Islam, Nubian architecture,
and the history of writing systems, and is renowned Mancala game researcher holding a Ph.D. on Bao mastership from Leiden University
[2].
He is member of the International Board Game Studies Association
and member of the editorial board of its journal [3].
