On 29 Mar 2016, the author of ChessGUI announced he retired from chess programming, therefore there would not be any update nor support for both ChessGUI and chess engine Big Lion. His home page become inaccessible after his dead<ref>[http://www.talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=81145 ChessGUI] by [[Graham Banks]], [[CCC]], December 14, 2022</ref>.
