XBoard is a graphical user interface for the Chess Engine Communication Protocol running under the Unix (Posix) operating system based on the X Window System, originally developed by Tim Mann as GNU Chess interface [2] [3]. In Fall 2013, Joshua Pettus managed to port XBoard to MAC OS X using the native Quarz Graphics layer [4] [5].
