Roman Hartmann [1]

Roman Hartmann,
a Swiss civil engineer with focus on underground and hydraulic engineering, and as avocational computer chess programmer author of the UCI compliant chess engine ROCE (Roman's Own Chess Engine), which became a reference engine for Perft and Divide [2]. In 2004, Roman Hartmann wrote his Matura thesis on Programming a Computer to Play Chess [3].
