Eventually, I discovered the oversight, removed the code, and in version 23.1 and later it was no longer present. How would a program that did not use the Edwards tablebases at all (since they were not available after Eugene's format came along as I was the primary source for distributing both sets and chose to just handle one) have such a piece of code? Eugene's tables __always__ supported EP.
