Oliver Kraus,
a German electronics engineer, software developer and chess player.
He started with Arduino projects in 2010, developing graphic libraries to support LCDs
and OLEDs. As a chess player with experience in computer chess
[1]
and interests in chess programming, the idea to develop a chess program to demonstrate the features of a graphics library was rather compelling.
Little Rook Chess [2] is now part of u8glib, a universal graphics library for embedded systems
[3].
