Maarten van der Meulen,
a Dutch computer scientist and chess and games programmer. His chess programs m1.0 played the DOCCC 1984, Arachne six further Dutch Open Computer Chess Championships from DOCCC 1985 until DOCCC 1990, and utilized Conspiracy Number Search on a multi-processor system [1].

Maarten van der Meulene defended his M.Sc. degree at the Vrije Universteit, Amsterdam on the topic of Parallel Conspiracy Number Search [2]. While affiliated with the Maastricht University, he further elaborated and published on Conspiracy number search and Proof-number search. Along with Victor Allis, Maarten van der Meulen is co-author of the successful Awari program Lithidion, which won three times the Computer Olympiad [3].
