L'Empereur,
a dedicated chess computer incorporating a Z80 processor with a Cyrus program by Richard Lang, designed by Intelligent Software and manufactured by Jean-Jacques Japhet's company CLJ Industries [2], which was the liquidated company of Frederic Ries who manufactured La Regence [3]. Along with its program stablemate Intelligent Chess Software, L'Empereur played the WMCCC 1984 in Glasgow
