Fauzi Akram Dabat,
a Jordanian OTB chess player, opening book author, correspondence chess player, Stockfish active developer, and computer chess aficionado.

OTB chess

He got his first rating in 2007 with a rating of 1957, reaching a peak rating of 2006 in the year 2015.[2]

Opening Books

In 2004, he started to create opening books for different GUI and formats, focusing mainly on the abk-Format of the Arena GUI, and CTG-Format [3].

In August 2015, Stockfish 6 by Marco Costalba, Joona Kiiski and Tord Romstad topped of the SSDF ratinglist using the "Aggressive 1.3 by Fauzi.abk" opening book by Fauzi Akram Dabat [4] [5].

Fauzi's books proceeded to achieve impressive results also in the Sedat Chess Opening Books Tournaments. SCCT Book 56 Super, SCCT book Super League 5.

Correspondence chess

Fauzi, Jordan's strongest correspondence chess player, began competing in 2019, earning the CCM title in 2021 and the IM title in 2025 reaching a peak rating of 2427.

Stockfish Development Contribution

Fauzi embarked on his journey as a Stockfish developer in 2016, when he ran his first test on Fishtest.[6] Since then, he has become one of the project’s most active and prolific contributors, with over 6,800 tests conducted and more than 120 commits merged into the engine, thanks to his significant contributions and expertise.
