Eric Postma [1]

Eric O. Postma,
a Dutch computer scientist and associate professor at Tilburg Centre for Creative Computing (TiCC) of Tilburg University [2]. He holds a Ph.D. degree from Maastricht University under Jaap van den Herik in 1994, and as a professor followed him in 2008 to Tilburg to establish TiCC [3]. His research interests include artificial intelligence, knowledge representation, neural networks, cognition and visual perception.

Neural MoveMap

Along with Levente Kocsis, Jos Uiterwijk and Jaap van den Herik, Eric Postma worked on using neural networks in computer chess to improve move ordering in alpha-beta, the Neural MoveMap Heuristic as published at CG 2002 [4].
