Edward John Quigley,
an American mathematician [1] and computer scientist affiliated with Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh, and in the 60s and 70s author of various Basic programs for the PDP-8, available from DECUS, the Digital Equipment Corporation User Society. In the DECUS 1978 catalog programs mentioned are Ping-Pong, Tictactoe, the Checkers program CHECK6C, a handwriting analyzing program NLYSIS, and Quigley's algebraic chess program QCHESS, later also ported to several different computers [2].
