David Hendricks,
an American programmer, in the late 80s and early 90s affiliated with the home computer software developing and trading company EdTech Associates Inc., operated by John T. Bell, located in College Park, Maryland [1]. David Hendricks is primary author of the early DOS chess program EdChess. While he was responsible for the chess playing algorithm, John T. Bell worked on the interface and designed the chessboard using the IBM special character set [2].
