The First Dutch Computer Chess Championship took place September 25-27, 1981, in De Uithof, Utrecht. Since multiple mainframes and micros were available, up to three games per program were played simultaneously.

Thousand visitors

The Dutch Computer Chess Championship on September 25-27 at the University Center The Uithof, Utrecht, was a great event. Thirteen participants competed for first place, which was eventually occupied by Luuk de Vries from Gouda, with his program YNCT 1.0, followed by Gambiet'81 (Wim Rens), Pion (TH Delft), ... About thousand visitors enjoyed the party, comments were given to the audience by Hans Bouwmeester, Jaap van den Herik, Sicco Kooi, Jan Louwman and Barend Swets.
