Atak,
a Chess Engine Communication Protocol compatible chess engine by Mateusz Łuksik, written in C, initially as part of his Master's thesis from Rzeszów University of Technology in 2002 , and first public released in September 2005. Early versions were standalone chess programs with an own GUI [1]. Atak had its over the board debut at the 1st Polish Computer Chess Championship in 2002 and was regularly participant of subsequent Polish Computer Chess Championship, winning the PCCC 2010. Atak 6.8 played the IGWT 2014, where it lost from later winner Chiron 2.
