an American computer science and mathematics major at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County [2]. He is author of the UCI compliant open source chess engine Ethereal, first officially released in June 2016 [3], and the distributed SPRT testing framework for chess engines, OpenBench [4] [5]. On October 09, 2020, Andrew Grant announced that his retirement from the computer chess development world along with the final release of Ethereal [6].
