Along with his Ph.D. student [[Subir Bhattacharya]]students, he researched on [[Search|search algorithms]]. They Amitava Bagchi and [[Subir Bhattacharya]] investigated [[George Stockman|Stockman's]] [[SSS* and Dual*|SSS* algorithm]], and proposed a [[Recursion|recursive]] implementation, called [[SSS* and Dual*#RecSSS|RecSSS*]].
