Villa Patio, Kasbah, Algiers [1]

Algir,
a chess program by Alexander Pokrovski, which played the First Soviet Computer-Chess Championship 1988 in Ulan-Ude, 3rd place, 3/5, only losing from Centaur. The tournament report mentions Algir running on an IBM PC, written in 8086 assembly, 32 KB, performing an alpha-beta search with 10-100 pos/sec [2]. Further, Algir played the First International Chess-Computer Tournament in the USSR 1989 in Moscow [3].
