Aaron L. Futer,
a Russian mathematician and computer scientist [1]. In the 70s at the Institute for System Studies (VNIISI) in Moscow, he researched on solving chess endgames, along with Edward Komissarchik on KQP(g7)KQ (1974), with Vladimir Arlazarov on KRPKR (1976) [2]. Based on Zermelo's justification [3] they applied retrograde analysis, using bitboards in coding the chess board.
