Walter Ravenek,
a Dutch chemist, computer scientist, software developer and computer chess programmer. He studied chemistry at the Delft University of Technology and the University of Amsterdam, and received his Ph.D. in theoretical chemistry at the Radboud University Nijmegen. He was then working as postdoc and lecturer in chemical informatics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Since 1999 Walter works as a software developer, since 2008 as a programmer at Huygens ING.
Walter Ravenek started in the early 90s in developing his chess program Arthur, which played strong tournaments through the 90s. More recently he developed his new program Eowyn.
