Daniel L. Sparks,
an American software engineer, until 2014 Ph.D. candidate at Department of Mathematics
at University of California, Berkeley, with interests in algebraic number theory
and arithmetic algebraic geometry,
especially p-adic and cohomological aspects.
As computer chess programmer, Daniel Sparks is author of the open source chess engine Exacto [2] [3].
