The Fifth Livingston [1] Chess960 Computer World Championship was held within the scope of the Chess Classic Mainz, Germany, July 29-31, 2009, last time organized by Hans-Walter Schmitt and his Chess Tigers [2]. The two finalists from 2008, Rybka and Shredder were challenged by two qualifiers from an online tournament held at Internet Chess Club (ICC), Deep Sjeng and Ikarus [3]. Hans Secelle served as arbiter, and Eric van Reem as Tournament director.
