Alexander Pokrovski, (Aleksandr Pokrovsky ),
a Russian chess programmer, and author of the PC chess program Algir, which participated at the First Soviet Computer-Chess Championship 1988 in Ulan-Ude  and the First International Chess-Computer Tournament in the USSR 1989 in Moscow  .
